Ahead of the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) received a massive boost as all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is set to join the squad after recovering from a side strain. The injury kept the youngster out of action since January. However, PTI has understood that Reddy successfully completed all the fitness test routines, including the yo-yo test at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, and the physios have given him the go-ahead.
The 21-year-old SRH player's last appearance for India came during the first T20I against England at the Eden Gardens on January 22, but he did not bat or bowl in that match. Reddy trained at nets ahead of the second T20I at Chennai, but was ruled out of that match and the five-match series with a side strain. The all-rounder was retained by SRH ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction for 6 Crore.

Reddy's stocks have soared after his brilliant performances in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy Down Under. The 21-year-old's fighting knock of 114 in the fourth Test in Melbourne earned him a lot of praise from experts and critics alike. Nitish is set to join the SRH squad soon as they will open their IPL 2025 campaign on March 23 against Rajasthan Royals at Hyderabad.
