Rohit Sharma (70) runs continued from where he left off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by stroking a classy fifty against Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH) in match 41 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season and enabled an easy seven-wicket win for MI. On both occasions, one thing was common - kill the match in power play itself. In today's match against SRH, chasing 144, Rohit Sharma was positive from the word go and attacked SRH's opening bowlers, Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat.
Despite losing Ryan Rickelton early for (11) runs, the former MI opener kept scoring sixes at will and enabled MI to get off to a solid start in the power play. Nothing went right for SRH as they kept bowling short to Rohit, and he kept on dispatching the ball long enough.

SRH, who came into the match with only two wins, yet again failed to play as a unit. Defending a modest target, the SRH bowlers could not get wickets upfront. Rohit Sharma ended up with powerful 46-ball 70 runs. Suryakumar Yadav continued his rich vein of form, and he ended up scoring unbeaten runs.

MI started the IPL 2025 campaign with three loses, but a close win in their fourth match against Delhi Capitals (DC) got their campaign back on track. Against SRH, they recorded their fourth win on the bounce. Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya have been instrumental in MI's revival in IPL 2025 season.
Meanwhile, SRH were consigned to their sixth loss of IPL 2025 season. Their chances of qualifying for playoffs is slowly going to smoke.
