Hardik and Tilak Keep MI's Hopes Alive

Hardik took the opportunity to strike against his brother, Krunal Pandya, hitting two massive sixes and took his over for 19 runs. Tilak Varma also joined in, attacking Josh Hazelwood and adding another 23 runs in that over. Out of nowhere, Hardik started striking at a rate above 400, making the chase exciting as the MI duo consistently cleared the boundaries. With four overs remaining, MI needed 52 runs off 24 balls, which allowed RCB a much-needed break.

When play resumed, Yash Dayal bowled tightly, but Tilak Varma hit a big six to reach his half-century in style. Despite giving away 11 runs in that over, Dayal bowled an important dot ball at the end. Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned to bowl his final over and took the crucial wicket of Tilak Varma, who was looking dangerous. Using a slower ball, Bhuvneshwar tricked Tilak into mistiming a shot that was caught at sweeper cover by Phil Salt.

Naman Dhir came in under significant pressure but hit a massive six over mid-on on his first ball, shifting the pressure back to Bhuvneshwar, who responded with a dot ball to finish the over. MI now needed 28 runs off 12 balls.

Comeback form Josh Hazelwood

The momentum from the dot ball continued as Josh Hazelwood dismissed Hardik Pandya for 46 runs off just 15 balls with the first ball of the penultimate over, leaving the crowd in stunned silence. This was a big wicket for RCB, as they had removed two well-settled batters who were attempting to take the game away from them. Hazelwood bowled tight lines through the rest of the over, but Mitchell Santner managed to clear the fence on the last ball, keeping MI fans hopeful.

Krunal Pandya Delivers to Seal RCB's 12-Run Win

With 19 runs required off 6 balls, the unexpected choice of Krunal Pandya to bowl the final over surprised many, but he delivered for his captain by dismissing Mitchell Santner right away with a clean bowled on the first ball. The wicket-taking spree continued as Krunal dismissed Deepak Chahar on the next ball.

Trent Boult came in to face the hat-trick ball but survived with a single. With 17 runs needed from the last 3 balls, Naman Dhir managed to hit a four, but Krunal once again made a comeback with another wicket, cementing Mumbai Indians' fourth defeat of the season.

There were huge smiles in the RCB camp as Krunal successfully bowled the last over, conceding just 6 runs and taking 3 wickets, ending his spell with figures of 4 wickets for 45 runs. RCB secured their third win of the season by 12 runs at the Wankhede Stadium.
