Nepal Cricket Team's rise is a refreshing watch to over the last two years. After performing well in the T20 World Cup 2024 tournament, the Asian side has now qualified for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 tournament, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February-March. The Rohit Paudel-led Nepal have remained undefeated and have won each of the four matches so far in the 2025 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia and EAP Qualifier in Oman.

Due to this winning streak, Nepal has now joined hosts Oman to secure a spot in two of the three spots of the showpiece event before even reaching the Super Six round itself. Notably, it is the second successive time that Nepal have managed to qualify for the T20 World Cups after their maiden appearance in 2024. However, Oman has managed to qualify for the fourth time for the global tournament after maintaining an unbeaten run so far, winning all their games in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia and EAP Qualifier at home.

Guaranteed the top two spots, Oman alongside Nepal will now lock horns at AI Amerat on Wednesday, October 15. As far as T20 World Cup 2026 spots are concerned, only one team can now qualify from the ongoing Asia and EAP Qualifier, with the remaining teams eager to secure their places alongside Oman & Nepal.

Speaking about Nepal, they managed to beat the West Indies in the recently concluded T20 series. The Paudel-led side also managed to give mighty scare to South Africa in the T20 World Cup in 2024. They played well and only lost the match by one run. Their giant stride in the last three years has been positive to watch. With continuous exposure against top teams, Nepal can be a force to reckon with in the coming five years.
