Rohit Sharma CT Win

A billion of Indian fans were disappointed when Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not hold any bus parade for Rohit Sharma-led India after they clinched Champions Trophy by beating New Zealand in Dubai. This was India's third CT win after the win in 2013. Fans expected BCCI to hold a grand open bus parade, but the board said it has only been reserved after the Men in Blue wins World Cups on foreign soil.

The crazy visuals of cricket-frenzy people cheering for Rohit Sharma & Co after clinching the second T20 World Cup in 2024 is still very fresh in memory. BCCI organized a open bus parade in Mumbai after India's nine-run win over South Africa in Barbados on June 29 2024. Eight and half months later, the Men in Blue gave yet another reason for a billion fans to celebrate by winning CT 2025, however a repeat of such scenes is likely to happen.

"All the players with families left from Dubai on Monday. Some players have stayed back for a couple of days," a BCCI source told PTI.

BCCI gives reasons why an open bus parade won't be possible this time

For the unversed, with the 18th season of IPL set to begin on March 22, the players want to get some some rest ahead of a two-month long T20 tournament. This is one of the prime reasons why BCCI did not plan a open bus parade, as it also takes one full day. As such the players are exhausted, and BCCI did not want to further complicate things.
