Kolkata Knight Riders star and Team India batter Rinku Singh was all set to tie the knot with Priya Saroj, daughter of three-time MP and MLA in Uttar Pradesh, Tufani Saroj, later this year. The couple had picked November 18, 2025, as their wedding date, with the ceremony planned at the Taj Hotel in Varanasi
However, the wedding has now been pushed to February 2026, as reported by Amar Ujala. Rinku's cricketing calendar clashes with the original date. The decision was made prioritising Rinku’s professional obligations with the Indian team. The couple got engaged in a grand ring ceremony on June 8 in Lucknow. Though the event was not widely publicised in advance, it quickly became the talk of the town once pictures and video clips began circulating on social media.
Rinku Singh and Priya Saroj were seen exchanging rings in front of close friends, family members, and a host of prominent guests from both political and cricketing circles. Among those present were Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, veteran Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan, and Indian fast-bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Rinku Singh & Priya Saroj’s Wedding Postponed: Here's Why
The primary reason for postponing the wedding is a scheduling conflict involving Rinku’s selection for India’s upcoming assignments. India are set to tour Australia in October and early November for three ODIs and five T20Is, which will be followed by a high-profile home series against South Africa, involving two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is.
With the cricketer’s career at a pivotal stage, both families would have felt it was wiser to reschedule the wedding than to compromise on either the occasion or Rinku’s sporting responsibilities.
Who is Priya Saroj?
Priya recently won the Machhlishahr seat on a Samajwadi Party ticket in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. She is the daughter of Tufani Saroj, a seasoned political figure.
According to Tufani Saroj, both Rinku and Priya were fond of each other but took time to ensure their families were fully on board with their decision to marry each other.
"Rinku and Priya have known each other for more than a year now. They both liked each other, but needed their families’ consent for the relationship. Both families have agreed to this marriage," Tufani Saroj said as quoted by PTI.
