PM Modi on IND vs PAK rivalary

Undoubtedly India vs Pakistan is the biggest rivalry in cricket, even better than the Ashes. However, in recent times, India has taken giant strides in cricket and has edged the Asian rival miles ahead. The recent ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match is proof of that, as the Men in Blue dominated Pakistan in every aspect and won the match by six wickets.

It is not just this match, but India has managed to have a wood over Pakistan in ICC events. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi was asked about the better side between the two, he settled the topic with blunt facts.

Modi is very passionate about sports and follows the matches keenly. Modi, & the government are also instrumental in the promotion of sports across categories while also launching programs like Khelo India. Modi believes that sports platforms allow people to come together.

"I think sports have the power to energize the entire world. The spirit of sports brings people across nations together. That's why I would never want sports to get discredited. I truly believe sports play a major role in human evolution. They're not just games; they connect people on a deeper level," he said in a podcast with Lex Fridman.

Modi was asked to choose between India & Pakistan, the PM did not shy away from stating the recent matches between the two sides is a prime example of who is more dominant.

"Now, coming to the question of who's better or not. When it comes to the techniques of the game, I'm not an expert. Only those who specialize in it can be the judge of it. They can only decide which team is the best and which players are the best. But sometimes, the results speak for themselves. Just a few days ago, India and Pakistan played a match and the result revealed who was the better team. That's how we know," he asserted.
