Sourav Ganguly set to play a cameo for Netflix's Khakee-The Bengal Chapter

OTT platform Netflix is all set to release its new web series, Khakee, The Bengal Chapter with former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly featuring in a special segment in it.

After the success of Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, the makers of the show are ready with another series of episodes now centering around Bengal. The show deals with the mafia and the politics of Bengal and how it has shaped in forming the state over the years.

Neeraj Pandey, the director of the show has featured the Indian captain in a special cameo adding a surprise element in the video. The viral video shows its makers discussing about the casting of Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. Meanwhile, suddenly out of nowhere, Sourav Ganguly appears in the video, as after all, the show is about Bengal and he is the most celebrated icon of Bengal.

He is asked to perform the role of a police officer. He nails the role to perfection and gets selected. However, things take a turn, when he is asked to perform the action scenes. He realises the trouble of it and instead accepts to task of promoting the series. The video is sure to attract the attention of the fans of Sourav Ganguly as it marks his acting debut in some parameter.

Netflix India shared it with the caption, “The Bengal Tiger meets the Bengal Chapter. Watch Khakee: The Bengal Chapter out 20 March, only on Netflix.” Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly's biopic is also set to release soon with Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao set to play Dada's character. The former BCCI president affirmed Rao’s casting but acknowledged that the film's release has been pushed back due to scheduling issues.

Talking about his recent commitments, Ganguly was with the Delhi Capitals women who recently lost the WPL final to Mumbai Indians who won the title for the second time. He will now join the Delhi Capitals in the IPL before the start of the season from March 22. He has been with the DC franchise as their Director Of Cricket Since 2022.
